Why is an ABN necessary? An Australian Business Number (ABN) is an 11 digit identifier from the Australian Business Register. Having an ABN is a key component of running a business. It is displayed on invoices that issued to your clients.

Mycarerite requires an Australian Business Number (ABN) to approve you on the platform. You will be operating as an independent contractor. It's free to apply and register for an ABN through the Australian Government's Business Registration Service. Apply for e-free ABN now. Your ABN must be either: A sole trader type in your name An incorporated entity of which you are a director If your ABN is an incorporated entity, email to a copy of your ASIC or ABN document to info@mycarerite.com to show you are the director.

What services can you offer? You can select more than one. But make sure you have the relevant qualifications.

May include companionship and support with daily living in the client's home and in the compound. You don't need any previous experience or qualifications.

May include showering, toileting and mealtime assistance. You'll need to provide relevant qualifications or minimum 2 years of experience in Aged Care or Disability services.

Open to entrolled and registered nurses to provide nursing services, you must be a registered Nurse and have more than 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Applicable to a psychologist, speech pathologist or occupational therapist. You must be registered with AHFRA or speech pathology Australia.

Qualifications for personal care

You must have at least one of the following qualifications to offer Personal Care. Then upload a copy of the certificate for the check qualifications.

Training required Assisting a person with swallowing or chewing difficulties to eat and drink using correct feeding techniques for pre-prepared food (i.e. diced, minced.)

Face to face training required This is limited to: Identifying the right person and verifying that name on the blister pack matches who is being given the blister. Light housework, including vacuuming, dusting, laundry, clearing bathrooms and toilets and washing floors.

Delivery of a pre-prepared meal, social interaction and a friendly check on the clients's well-being.

Assisting with meal preparation for someone This does NOT include preparing meals for people with swallowing or chewing requirements or complex diets.

Assisting with daily organisation of reminders, calendar management, appointments, correspondence, and other general administrative tasks.

Either accompanying a person to the shop or shopping for them in accordance with the person's needs and any specific core plan.

Providing social support to a person in their home or in the community.

Assisting a person with community sports, fitness, and daily exercise.

You must upload a copy of your valid Australian Driver Licence Transporting clients in either the support worker's or the client's vehicle. The support worker's driver licence was verified only when upload to mycarerite. Check the driver still holds a valid Australian driver's and that the vehicle is registered and covered by comprehensive insurance.

Requirements We only accept clearance for paid employment and not for volunteer or unpaid work make sure your check is valid for the state that you are providing services in
 
 

How to apply for a working with Children Check The Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a requirement for anyone who works directly with children in each state. Go to your state's website to apply ACT and TAS only your Working with Vulnerable People must be Employee/Volunteer class.
